beauty secrets of turmeric

All the miraculous turmeric remedies have been discussed in the section ahead. But before that, let’s look at what hyperpigmentation is, what causes it, how you can prevent it and what products like kumkumadi tailam, nalpamaradi thailam should be used.

What is hyperpigmentation and its causes?

Hyperpigmentation is a condition where the skin seems darker than it is. It can appear as little patches, cover huge regions or affect the whole body. Hyperpigmentation shows up as age spots, dark patches and melasma. It can also pop up as skin inflammation scars or acne.

Some people are scared of it while some find their freckles cool as it gives them an exotic look. It is all a matter of individual choice.

While pigmentation, for the most part, isn't unsafe, one must get it checked out by trained professionals to rule out serious medical concerns.

A usual reason for hyperpigmentation is an overabundance of melanin. Melanin is an enzyme that gives skin its tone. It's created by skin cells called melanocytes. Some conditions can change the amount of melanin in your body.

  • A constant exposure to sun and pollution can also cause hyper-pigmentation. It is cited as the most common cause of non-medical hyperpigmentation.
  • Certain meds can cause hyperpigmentation. Most chemotherapy medications can result in hyperpigmentation as an incidental effect.
  • Pregnancy changes hormone levels and can influence melanin in certain ladies.

There are some remedies you can try to treat your hyperpigmentation at home. However, do remember that the ones that we share here are experiential.

Home care incorporates the use of sunscreen to ward off the damage by UV rays. Sunscreen is an absolute, most significant factor in working on preventing hyperpigmentation. Other home remedies, especially the ones that include turmeric in their ingredient base just like nalpamaradi thailam, also help to ease up dark spots.

Apart from that, a few other remedies that work great on skin are: -

  • Aloe vera contains aloin, a characteristic depigmenting compound that has been proved to ease up skin. Apply aloe vera gel to pigmented regions before sleeping. Wash with warm water the following morning. Repeat day by day until your skin tone improves.
  • Milk, buttermilk, and surprisingly sour milk have all been proved to viably ease up skin spots. Lactic acid is liable for this impact. Soak cotton ball milk. Rub it over darkened skin twice a day. Repeat twice a week to get the best results.
  • Red lentils (masoor dal) are high in cell reinforcements that are useful for the skin. Dip 50 grams of red lentils in a bowl of water. Utilize a blender or food processor to make a fine paste. Apply the paste, in a thin coating, all over your face and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash with cold water and wipe your skin off with a towel.
  • Green tea leftovers might have a depigmenting impact when applied on skin. You can apply green tea sacks to dark spots. Or you can also Steep a green tea sack in bubbled water for three to five minutes. Eliminate the tea pack from the water and let cool. Rub the tea sack over your dark patches.
